PASS

PASS is an advanced scheduling and dispatching application developed to support the coordinated transportation efforts of demand response transit services.

PASS release note tables have been divided by category for easy reference to the software.

PASS tasks may be found in TP4 release notes or in TP6 release notes.

Trapeze4 Workstation

The Trapeze4 Workstation is the Trapeze interface most commonly used by PASS.

This section contains general corrections and enhancements that relate to PASS within the Trapeze4 Workstation.
Version Type Description ID
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where the map did not open in the workstation and then an Exception error was thrown in InitMapContext().

PASS-23833
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where when copying a polygon to replicate it for a different polygon type, produced errors when the polygon was used for bookings and paraservice area rules. Polygons needed to be manipulated to clear the errors and for the booking and paraservice area rules to be able to function as intended.

Switches

Switches turn specific system functionality on and off, or modify how the system functionality works.

Switches are found in different places in the system. For example, in the Trapeze6 Service Shell in and in the Trapeze4 Workstation. Typically, when a switch is seen in multiple locations, its settings should match in all places.

Security Permissions

Security permissions define features within PASS to which users can either be given access or denied access.

Security permissions are found in the Trapeze6 Client Shell and in web-based interfaces.
Version Type Description ID
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where when the security permission for cancelling a subscription was set to Deny, the cancelling of a subscription trip from the Client/Booking Info modal was still allowed.

PASS-23861

System Properties

Trapeze4 system properties define certain aspects of system behavior.

System properties are found in the Trapeze4 Workstation under Tools > System Properties.

Ancillary Data and Supplementary Data

Ancillary data allows transit sites to customize the information system users see when they work in the Trapeze4 Workstation. Supplementary data provides additional opportunities for customization.

Runs

Runs allows users to define master, template, and daily runs to which trips may be scheduled.

Runs is found in the Trapeze4 Workstation by clicking Task > Runs.

Client Registration

Client Registration allows you to register clients, update client history, and define a client’s eligibility for paratransit service.

Client Registration is found in the Trapeze4 Workstation by clicking Task > Clients.

Trip Booking

Trip Booking allows users to create casual or subscription trips for clients.

Trip Booking is found in the Trapeze4 Workstation by clicking Task > Trip Booking.
Version Type Description ID
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where when using multiple paraservices, the paraservice information failed to populate in Trip Booking unless the initial booking was cleared (by clicking New or Reverse button).

PASS-23854
TP4 21.22.0.0 ENH

Added an indicator for booking records with invalid paraserviceid. This improvement would validate the paraserviceid when editing a booking, and still show the paraservice saved at the booking level, but have a visual indication that it is no longer valid.

PASS-23785

Faring

Faring is about how clients are charged for trips.

Fare type options are defined in ancillary data under File > Ancillary Data > Para > Pricing > Fare Types. Faring is used throughout PASS and fare types are seen in various places, including Client Registration, Trip Booking, and Schedule Editor.

Trip Administration

Trip Administration allows users to look up trip information and to maintain and update subscription and casual bookings.

Trip Administration is found in the Trapeze4 Workstation by clicking Task > Trip Administration.

Version Type Description ID
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where when searching trips by polygon, the list was not sorted which made it difficult to locate the correct polygon.

Now, check boxes are added, which appear when the polygon abbreviations are typed into the Polygon search box. When an abbreviation matches what is typed, it will then appear as a checkbox in a drop-down menu below the search box. Selecting the checkbox of a polygon will then transfer it into an empty field beside the Polygon search box.

You can continue searching for polygons and then clicking its corresponding checkbox to create an ordered comma-delimited list inside the field. Then, click Display and it will show in the grid in the order that you had made it appear in the field.

Wizards

Wizards are typically used to locate information or update records and are accessed from various PASS screens (for example, Client Registration, Trip Booking, or Trip Administration).

Wizards include the Client Change Wizard, the Subscription Change Wizard, the Location Change Wizard, and the Street Wizard.

Version Type Description ID
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue where the Schedule Booking Wizard was not displaying all of the para service solutions in the results with “Max Sol.” value in the parameter set.

PASS-23784
TP4 21.22.0.0 CORR

Fixed an issue in the Subscription Change Wizard. When activating a subscription and entering a date far into the future in the To: field, trips would activate on live days even though the days were not loaded.

The issue was when another user made a change to the subscription (for example, suspending the subscription), but left the date in the To: field as the default date (the furthest out date that has been loaded). This then would apply the changes to live days until the date specified in the To: field. Even if template days were changed in the Wizard, the changes did not apply beyond the last loaded date and still had the old subscription trips.
