About Demographic Analysis Requirements

Demographic Analysis requires two elements of data: a polygon map layer that describes the map coordinates of bounded regions and a data source that contains data associated with those polygons.

Although you are not limited to census geography, you can use census block group polygons and block group data with the Demographic Analysis module. Block Groups (BG) is a census geography that is bigger than a census block and smaller than a census tract. It is a convenient size for transit demographic analysis. The following is an outline and a few examples of the data that could be supplied with Demographic Analysis. (The actual data contains hundreds of columns of information.)
