Creating Polygons for Transfer Trips

If your site performs transfer trips (trips involving a transfer from one vehicle to another), you must set up the correct polygons for those transfer trips.

Procedure

  1. Determine the Polygon Type to be used for transfer zones.
    The type can be either a unique polygon type or a shared type (for example, Service Area). Polygon types are added or edited by a system administrator in File > Ancillary Data > General > Polygon Types.
  2. Click Task > Polygon Definition, and plot all of the polygons that are to be used in booking transfer trips, ensuring that the polygons overlap one another as needed.
    Transfer points must fall within all polygons that share the transfer point.
  3. Click Task > Bus Stops.
  4. Create all transfer points to be used as geocoded bus stops. Mark the bus stop as a transfer on the Details tab.

    All runs have to be designated with a service area for which they provide service in the Master, Live, and Template days, and must reflect the same polygons as set up in Para Polygon Transfer ancillary data.
