Table 1. Description of Commands on the Street Wizard Geocoder Tab
Name Button Description
Clear Address A stylistic X. Deletes the data from the address fields in the Geocoder tab.
Copy Address From Form Empty window. Transfers address information from an address box in the active window to the address fields of the Geocoder tab.
Match Address Envelope. When an address is typed in the Geocoder tab, Match Address prompts the system to match each piece of typed information with the map data in the system.

If there is an exact match, the address is geocoded and the text in the address field turns black. If part of the address is incorrect, the Address Matcher dialog box appears to help resolve the mismatch.

Use Mouse to geocode point on the map Computer mouse. Geocodes a point directly on the map.

Click the Use Mouse to geocode point on the map button, then move your pointer over the exact location to geocode, and click.

This method provides great flexibility and is only recommended for experienced users.
Note:

If the Update address upon Successful Geocode button is activated while you complete this activity, the On Street and At Street fields display the street and cross street selected on the map. If it is not activated, these fields remain blank.

You must type the rest of the address manually.

Update address upon successful geocode Envelope with two clockwise green arrows. If selected, once a successful geocode is performed using the Match Address or Mouse button, the address fields on the Geocoder tab are updated with the geocoded information.

If this button is not selected, an address is geocoded but the Geocoder tab retains its original entry.

Review Match Settings Hand pointing at two columns of lines. Shows the current parameters of the Address Matcher.
