About FX Permission Keys

The following table explains the FX permissions keys. Some FX features that work in conjunction with other Trapeze products that you also use may require that you set permission keys that are not listed in this table.

Permission Key Description
Blocking Enables the process of linking or hooking together trips into a chronological sequence so that each block defines the work to be performed by a vehicle from the first to the last node.

Unhook All Trips: If marked, the Unhook trips button is shown on the Blocking screen toolbar.

Bus Stops Identifies the stops within the routes of the transport site including their locations. The following options are applied on the Bus Stops screen and Nodes tab in the Route Definition screen:
  • Add/Edit/Delete Stops: Allows you to delete a stop. The Calendar icon on the Bus Stops screen is grayed out if this key is denied.
  • Delete Used Stops: Allows you to delete an existing stop. When deleting a stop on the Nodes tab in the Route Definition screen, a message may appear asking you to confirm the action since deleting the stop may change or delete a number of existing trips.
  • Edit LatLon - Allows you to set permissions for the Lon and Lat fields in the Bus Stops screen
Data & View Administration Allows for the setting of the system and user-defined properties. Depending on the policy of your transit site, these properties are normally set by the system administrator.

Distance Wizard Determines the distance between points and displays the most feasible route along the street network. Also used in Trapeze PASS.
Find Closest... Wizard Enables the search for vehicles, stops, locations, events and clients in a specific area. Also used in Trapeze PASS.

FX Advanced Operations
Enables the following features:
  • FX Clone
  • FX Copy
  • FX Delete
  • FX Merge
  • FX Security Admin
Enables you to copy, delete, and merge data on a global scale. For example, instead of copying routes, trips, and blocks individually, the FX Copy function allows you to select and copy schedule data from one sign-up period to another.

Also, enables the FX Security feature that allows you to define the level of access of users to the following data: divisions, lines, line groups, services, and service groups.

FX Screens Enables the specified FX feature to appear on the screen:
  • Allow Ids in Column Headers
  • Auto create new exceptions: Allows you to create new day exceptions in the Trip Building and Blocking screens if exceptions already exist for the selected days. If there are no previous exceptions, a message appears advising you of this and directing you to create the new exceptions in the Exceptions ancillary data screen.
  • Enable Special Points: Allows the Special Points tab to be displayed in the Route Definition screen.

Reports (under General Tools) Enables you to view or print standard Trapeze or customized reports as required. Also used with Trapeze PASS.
Rostering Enables you to group daily operator runs into weekly work packages based on a division of services.
Route Definition
Enables you to set the various patterns of nodes and stops along a route. The following properties allow you to make changes to nodes and stops in the Edit dialog of the Nodes tab in the Route Definition screen:
  • Add/Edit/Remove Node: Allows you to remove nodes from the selected route.
  • Add/Edit/Remove Stop: Allows you to remove stops from the selected route.
  • Reorder 2 Nodes: Allows you to change the sequence of nodes in a route.
  • Reorder 2 Stops: Allows you to change the sequence of stops in a route.
Route Wizard Allows you to display lines, stops, and polygons on the map.
Runcutting Allows you to develop operator assignments (runs) from a pool of vehicle blocks. It is often an iterative process. Runs may consist of one or more complete or partial blocks.
Street Wizard Helps you find streets, cross streets and street names in the system map. Also used with Trapeze PASS.
Trip Building Enables you to develop the schedule of trips along the routes you have defined.
Vehicles Ancillary Data

Enables the following permission keys:

  • Bus Types
  • Vehicle Maintenance Types
  • Vehicle Types: Enter the types of vehicles used by the transport site. The data feeds into several FX screens, for example, into the Trips tab of the Trip Building screen where you can assign vehicle types to trips.

Also used with Trapeze PASS.

Vehicles Allows you to enter and save data such as service information and capacity of the vehicles of the transport site used for para, fixed or flex routes. Also used with Trapeze PASS.

Enables the permission key:

Allow to send to offline users: Allows you to send messages to users who are currently offline.
