Building a Map File

When building a map file, make sure that you select the appropriate options in the Map Builder dialog box.

Make sure that you have write access to the map data.
  1. Click Tools > Maintenance > Rebuild Map.
    The Map Builder dialog box appears.

  2. Select the following check boxes on the left pane:
    • Metrics
    • Binary Path
    • Street Names
    • Network
    • Nodes
    • Other

    If a tab does not appear in the dialog box, click the navigation buttons to browse through the tabs: Navigation button

  3. After setting the options, click Start Build.
  4. When prompted to confirm the selected tasks to be performed, click Yes.

    When the build finishes, a confirmation message appears.

  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Map Builder dialog box, click Close.
You can choose to close and restart MapEdit after this procedure.
