Format Properties
Setting formats determines how specific information appears in COM.
| Property | Description |

| Currency Scale |
The number of digits that appear after the decimal in currency values by typing a number in the box on the right. |
| Date Display Format | The format of the dates that appear throughout COM. The dates can be displayed in many styles, such as YY-MM-DD or MM-DD-YYYY. |
| Date YY Pivot Year |
Determines how COM understands a date when it is typed as a two-digit year. For example, if this property is set at 1920, any date typed between 00 and 19 is read by the system as 2000 to 2019. Any date typed between 20 and 99 is read by the system as 1920 to 1999. |
| DateTime | The format for how the system displays the date and time as one unit. An example is YYYY/MM/DD,HH:MM:SS. |
| Distance | Determines how distances appear and how they are measured in COM, whether in kilometers or miles, or another format. |
| Speed | Determines the speed values that appear and are measured in COM: kilometers per hour, miles per hour, or meters per second. |
| Time |
Displayed by databases in COM in varying combinations of hours, minutes, and seconds. In the drop-down list on the right, double-click on your preference. Since most transit sites do not end their days at midnight, time is usually set as
HH:MMapx. The apx refers to
which allows time to exceed a 24-hour clock. Military time (HH:MM) also accepts times past 24 hours. The latest recommended time is 36:00h or 11:59x. |

Time Span |
Determines how the difference between two times (quantity of time as opposed to a current clock time) is displayed by COM. Click on Time Span and then double click on the drop-down list on the format of your choice. The selection HH.DDDD is the decimal format for time spans, which is particularly useful for timekeeping purposes when rates of pay are also being calculated. |
