About DriverMate
DriverMate allows demand response drivers to receive information from and provide information to dispatchers in real time over the air.
- View the current day's manifest.
- Access detailed event and passenger information.
- View changes in the day's manifest as they occur.
- View event locations on maps.
- Receive turn-by-turn directions to event locations.
As the day progresses, drivers are able to record when they arrive at locations and perform events. They can also indicate when passengers are no-shows, or when trips are canceled. All information provided, and trip data such as vehicle arrival and departure times, is automatically sent to dispatchers and stored in the Trapeze database.
Dispatchers are able to see the exact location of each vehicle as the day progresses, giving them insightful information. Furthermore, the back office scheduling system can identify drivers running late, and automatically shift trips around to other drivers.
The system also enables text and voice messaging between drivers and dispatchers, which can increase communications while reducing radio traffic.
DriverMate communicates with either Trapeze PASS or NOVUS for Demand Response. Because it communicates with the same dispatch systems as hard-mounted terminals, a transit agency can use both hard-mounted terminals and DriverMate at the same time.
