Autosend Tab

The following table describes the properties on the Autosend tab.

Property Description

Auto Send interval to Supervisor AVL information

(This property is used in Trapeze Supervisor-MON.)

Set the interval time at which AVL messages are sent to Supervisor-MON.
AutoSendMode
Select one of the following options:
Autosend Off
Select this option if you do not want to send messages automatically.
Time Period AutoSend
Select this option to make use of the rolling window that occurs through the day.
Time Scheduled AutoSend
Select this option to schedule time windows to send messages in a single burst.
Continuous Time Sched AutoSend
Select this option to schedule time windows to send messages continuously through the window specified.

For the Autosend process to work correctly, it is extremely important to clear the Send field on the Incidents tab on the Dispatch screen of Trapeze PASS for the routes covered by vehicles with mobile computers. As night dispatchers tend to mark all incidents as delivered by log (DL), they must select the routes and mark them as Unsent. This is an important issue to keep in mind especially during the pilot phase after PASS-MON has been installed, however, this should become easier as the whole fleet rolls out with mobile computers. When an entire fleet is in the rollout stage, the Incidents tab will no longer need to be relevant because the MDT Server uses that field to determine what trips need to be sent out to the mobile computer. So, if the field has a status that is other than a blank, such as delivered by voice (DV) or DL, the server will not attempt to send that event out to the mobile computer unless specified in the ‘Ignore events marked as...’ property.

Autosend process calculates what trips are to be sent as follows:
  • PeriodBegin <= EstimatedTime <= PeriodEnd
    • Where:PeriodBegin = CurrentTime + Time Offset from Current
    • PeriodEnd = PeriodBegin + Period

This is recalculated and trips are posted into the Message queue every Checking Interval.

Checking interval (seconds) Set the frequency interval (in seconds) for the Autosend process to run.

The Autosend process checks the Trapeze4 database for trips to send to the mobile computer.

End time Set the time after which the Autosend process becomes inactive.

This is typically when the service ends for the day at your transit site.

Fax one booking pr page

(This property is specific to a mobile computer vendor.)

When trips are sent by fax, and this property is set to Yes, only one booking appears per page.
Ignore Events Marked as ...

Events marked with the selected status are ignored by the MDT Server and are not sent to the mobile computer.

Options include a combination of the following modes:
DM
Delivery by mobile computer
DV
Delivery by voice
DL
Delivery by log sheet

This is typically sent to DM/DV/DL in a mobile data environment.

Period

Set the length of the time window that the Autosend process examines. This includes both the backward looking window, which is specified by the Time offset (from Current) property, and forward looking window.

This property is related to the Capacity property. These settings configure how many trips are to display on the mobile computer. If the mobile computer capacity is set at 10 but the Period is set at one hour (1h00), the MDT Server uses whichever parameter returns the lesser number of events.

Start time Set the time when the Autosend process is activated.
Time Offset (from current) The Autosend process shifts the starting time point relative to the current time using this value.

If this property is entered as –15, the MDT Server sends the trips to the mobile computer, in conjunction with the Period property, that have an estimated time of 15 minutes prior to the current time.

For example, if the current time is 12:00 and the setting on this property is entered as -15, a trip with an estimated time of 11:45 is sent to the mobile computer even though the current time is 12:00.

Time Schedule This property can be used as an alternative way of scheduling the Autosend process.

It is not currently used at any site.

Time tolerance (for Due Time) Every trip message sent to the MDT Server gets Due time assigned to it. If the current time is greater than the Due time, the MDT Server does not retry to send the trip message.

For example, (Due Time) = (Est Time) – (Time Tolerance).

This property is typically entered as the same as the Time Offset property.
