Starting the Service Shell

Before you can set up COM, you must start the Service Shell.

Procedure

  1. Double-click the previously created Service Shell shortcut:
    The Service Shell Shortcut icon (it resembles the Trapeze logo) with the Windows security shield overlaid on it to indicate that the application will be run in Administrator mode.
    The Service Shell shortcut specifies the COM configuration file.
    The Service Shell window appears.
  2. Wait until the plug-ins have loaded and are visible in the PluginName column.
