Deadhead Switches and Descriptions

The following switches are found in the Trace Options dialog box in the Schedule Server application by expanding the Switches > PASS > SchedSrv > Deadhead folder:

Switch Description Default
Cost Formula Specifies the formula to use when calculating deadhead cost.
Select one of the following options:
  • 0 - Default (uses formula #1)
  • 1 - (dht^2 - dht * threshold) / (dht + threshold + slack)
  • 2 - Max(0, (dht^2 - dht * threshold)) / (dht + threshold + slack)

  • 3 - Max(0, dht - threshold)

  • 4 - Max(0, slack - threshold)

Cost Inflation Specifies the inflation factor for deadhead weight.

Enter a value between 1 and 25 to manually specify cost inflation.

For auto-selection, set the value to 0 (default).

Max Deadhead Dist Specifies the maximum amount of deadhead distance in meters that is allowed before a violation is incurred and the solution is discarded. Does not apply to garage deadhead.

To disable this switch, set the value to 0 (default).

Max Deadhead Rule Specifies when to check for deadhead exceeding the maximum deadhead distance:
Specify one of the following options:
  • 0 - Disable deadhead checking.
  • 1 - Apply deadhead check only during a batch.

  • 2 - Apply deadhead check always. Shows violations in the Schedule Editor.
