Marking Events as Arrived in Dispatch

When you mark an event as arrived, you record the time when the vehicle arrives at the pick-up location before the client boards the vehicle or at the drop-off location before the client leaves the vehicle.

Before you begin

Dispatch (Task > Dispatching) must be open.

About this task

Marking an event as arrived is typically done in Schedule Editor but you can also do this in Dispatch. Because the dispatcher’s time is restricted, the Arrive command is not typically used except on sites equipped with MDTs. With MDTs, events are marked as arrived by the driver, who presses a button on the MDT once the vehicle has arrived at the event.

Procedure

  1. Click the Vehicles tab.
  2. Select the No Filter option and either the Runs or Vehicles option.
Depending on your selection, the tab lists all runs or all vehicles that exist for the current schedule.
  3. Select the run or vehicle that contains the trip to mark as arrived.
  4. Click Display Events.
The grid at the bottom of the screen shows the itinerary for the selected run or vehicle.
  5. Select the event in the grid.
  6. Click Dispatch > Arrive.
In the Status column, the S (schedule) is replaced by A to indicate that the vehicle has arrived.
