About Updating the *.Profile Files
*.Profile files are text files that provide configuration information for the Trapeze6 Trip Broker Service Shell and Client Shell.
A profile file must include the following information:
- Data source information
- Data source information includes the ODBC name and login information that the Service Shell uses to connect to the Trapeze database.
- Server information
- Server information includes the port that the Client Shell uses to connect to the Service Shell.
- Component files and service groups
- Each component file and service group contains services that are required for specific Trapeze applications.
Profile files are saved in the <path>\Config folder, where <path> is the directory where the application is installed. Profile files are named <name>.profile, where <name> is the application name that appears in the title bar of the Service Shell. These files can be edited manually.
You can run multiple application sessions on one server by running shells with different profile files.
The TripBroker.profile file is used by Trip Broker to connect to the PASS database.
