About Establishing Depth and Effort

In addition to selecting the type of runcut you want the system to perform, there are various levels of runcutting that are available in BlockBuster along two criteria: depth and effort.

  • Depth - The complexity of the algorithm or the extent that you want the system to go while runcutting.
  • Effort - Refers to how long you want the system to take to improve the solution.

There are four progressive levels of depth and effort for each runcut that you can use in varying combinations. Both depth and effort can be set to:

  • Quick Cut (set as the default)
  • Normal
  • Extended
  • Serious Runcutting
Note: Not all of the options at the bottom of the Cut dialog are available when other BlockBuster cut types are selected.
