Cut Pieces Grid

The Cut Pieces grid, which is the left grid on the main BlockBuster screen, displays the data that has been typed or generated from the runcutting processes.

The following table explains the column headings in the grid:

Line Group Line group of the biggest piece or first piece based on parameter
Line First line of the first trip that the piece operates
Pattern Pattern of the first trip that the driver operates. If the relief is on arrival, the pattern of the previous trip is displayed.
Piece Plat Piece platform
Plat Platform - Amount of time that an operator is on board a vehicle. Typically, this spans the From and To times.
Spread Period of time from the beginning of one shift to the end of the last shift for one operator on one operational day.
Work

Amount of time that an operator is considered to be working.

Travel

Amount of time in the run that an operator spends travelling from either a garage to a relief location (or vice versa), or from a relief location to another relief location.

Pay Total pay hours for the run in equivalent straight time.
Report Time allowed for drivers to sign on and prepare for work at the start of their run
Clear Time allowed for drivers to inspect their vehicles before they sign off at the end of their run
Makeup Time added to work time to comply with the minimum daily or weekly guarantee that is required by union contract
OT

Amount of Overtime Premium in equivalent straight time.

Amount of Spread Overtime Premium in equivalent straight time

Break Pay

Amount of time between pieces (when operator is not onboard a vehicle) that is paid.

Start Trv Type
(Start Travel Type) Travel at the start of a run; shown with any of the following codes:
  • R - Regular travel
  • W -Wait and travel
  • S -Shuttle
  • P - Created pull-out or pull-in
End Trv Type (End Travel Type) Travel at the end of a run; shown with the same codes applied to Start Trv Node.
Wait

Amount of time that is paid for when operator waits for a vehicle to travel from a garage to a node or vice versa.

Wait Time

Actual Time for when operator waits for a vehicle to travel from a garage to a node or vice versa

Pay Total pay hours for the run in equivalent straight time, as decimal hours.
Cost

Blockbuster costing value for the run (including all pay totals, penalties, and overheads)

Penalty

Penalty cost assigned to the run for exceeding run type penalty threshold values

Pay Total pay hours for the run multiplied by the pay rate parameters that have been set in BlockBuster
Bus Type Bonus Bonus paid to an operator for driving a specific vehicle type.
Meal Break Bonus Bonus applied to a meal break.
Night Bonus Bonus paid to an operator for work performed on a night shift.

Overtime Night Bonus Bonus paid for overtime work performed during a night shift
Day Premium Pay Payment applied to work performed during a day shift on special days, for example on holidays as determined by the transit agency or contract rules.
Spread Excess Amount of time in excess of Spread threshold before premiums applied

Shift Time

Break Trv1 Type

Type of travel at the end of the piece before the break occurs. Values shown in this field are:

  • R - Regular travel
  • W - Wait and Travel
  • S - Shuttle
  • P - Created Pull-out and Pull-in

Values are also used in Start Trv Type.

Break Trv2 Type Type of travel after the break before the piece. Values are the same as Break Trv1 Type.

Paid Wait Time that occurs between pieces of work

Paid Travel Time at the start of a piece

End Travel

Paid Travel Time at the end of a piece

Piece Portion of a block that contains one or more trips.
Start Relief Type
Type of relief:
  • U = Unattended
  • R = Regular
  • F = Floating

By default, all reliefs are labeled "R". "U" or "F" are used based on the BlockBuster parameters or if the relief is cut at a place that makes it unattended or floating.

End Relief Type Values are the same as Start Relief Type.
Layover

Total layover time contained within all pieces in a run.
