About the Geocoder Tab

The Geocoder tab is designed to let you geocode an address from the Street Wizard.

The Geocoder tab includes the following components:
  • Input fields for the elements of the geocoded address:
    • Location
    • Number
    • On Street
    • At Street
    • City
    • State
    • Zip Code

    You can type address information into these fields or double-click a field label (for example, Number, On Street, At Street) to import selected address range, street, or cross street from another tab.

  • A Unit field.

    Unit information is used only for mailing purposes. It is not used in the address matching process.

  • Longitude and Latitude fields.

    Longitude and latitude fields show location coordinates after a successful geocode. These fields are read-only by default.

  • A Map Page field.

    Map page is used to find the page in the map book with its grid coordinates if your map contains map pages, for example, 114:H,9.

  • An Address Preview option.

    Address Preview is used to see how the geocoded address will look on mailing information.
