CFCC Codes

Trapeze4 applications use ranges of CFCC codes rather than specific CFCC values to determine segment types. For example, a segment is considered a freeway if it has a CFCC code from A10 to A19.

Table 1. CFCC Codes for Roads

Code Range

Segment Type in Trapeze4 Application

Default Map Color

A10-A19

Freeway (typically with a median; interstate highways, restricted access roads; autobahn; speed limit is over 100 km/h)

Red

A20-A29

Arterial (generally without a median, speed limit about 80 km/h)

Yellow

A30-A39

Collector (streets that can be used for a longer trip, typically with a speed limit about 60 km/h)

Yellow

A40-A99

Residential (small streets with typical speed of about 40 km/h)

Gray

Note: You can change the colors of segments on the map in Trapeze4 applications.
Since Trapeze4 applications consider ranges of CFCC codes rather than specific codes, you do not need to import specific CFCC codes into the Trapeze4 map database. For example, you could use the CFCC codes shown in the following table for segments that you are importing into a Trapeze4 map database:

When loading flexible format data into the Trapeze4 map database, the system can assign CFCC codes to records with certain data values.
