Geocoding Intersections and Addresses

Addresses can be geocoded using the Street Wizard. When geocoding a point on the system map, a precise longitude and latitude value are assigned to it in the system.

The system uses these geocodes to calculate the distance and time it takes for a vehicle to travel from point to point along established routes.
  1. Click Tools > Street Wizard (or press F7), or click the Street Wizard button: Street Wizard
    The Street Wizard window appears.
  2. Find the intersection or address range to geocode.
  3. On the Cross or Range tab, click an intersection or address range, and then click the Geocode button: Geocode
The system records the location longitude and latitude values.
  4. On the Geocoder tab, type the address information of the geocoded location.
