System requirements for setting up the on-premise data gateway. Typically, two (2) Virtual Machines are required for the historical and real-time gateways.

System Requirements

Virtual Machine requirements for self-hosted integration runtime (SHIR) data factory gateway (historical) and Power BI Gateway (real-time):
  • A real-time gateway is required only when ViewPoint is used for PASS or TransitMaster(GTFS) data.
  • Trapeze will install SHIR and the Power BI Gateway. The Gateway functions act as a mediator between the cloud services and on-premises data sources. The data gateways run as windows service. The windows service is registered with the Gateway Cloud Service through the Azure service bus.
  • Supported OS versions: Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard
  • Recommended machine configuration is at least 2 GHz, 4 cores, 8 GB RAM, and 80-GB disk.
  • Oracle/SQL Server ODBC driver to connect the on-premises data source to ADF and Power BI service.
  • Install 64-bit JRE 8 (Java Runtime Environment) or OpenJDK on the historical data gateway.
