Configuring ODBC Connections
Open DataBase Connectivity (ODBC) is a standard application programming interface for connecting to different databases using a common language. Each database must communicate with the Trapeze software using an ODBC connection.
- Trapeze supports Microsoft SQL and Oracle.
- Most Trapeze4 products communicate with the three main database components: MmsData, MmsMap, and MmsCfg. There are corresponding ODBC connections to these databases.
- To launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator from Windows, in the system folder, click . For easy access, create a shortcut to the ODBC executable file.
Note: If you are using Microsoft Windows 98 or a previous version, the latest MDAC drivers
from Microsoft must be installed on the system to configure the ODBC connections for
Trapeze.
