Creating Transfers Manually

Individual transfers can be manually created at specific locations between two routes, for example, a transfer takes place from a stop on Route 1 to a stop on Route 2.

Inter-Agency transfers can only be created using this method.
  1. In the list at the top of the Transfer tab, choose an agency or choose Inter-Agency.
  2. Click the New Transfer button:New Transfer button
    The grid appears shaded and the input fields at the bottom of the dialog box are enabled.
  3. In the field below the From Agency/Sign-up period field, select the line/direction from which the transfer is initiated.
  4. In the field below the To Agency/Sign-up Period field, select the line/direction to which the transfer is completed.
  5. To select transfer stops, do one of the following two steps:
    • Below the From/To Line fields, choose a stop for each respective line from the lists. These are the transfer points.
    • Click the Find Both button: Find Both button

      Move your pointer to the system map. Locate the transfer point (a point at which the two routes intersect) and click on it. The system populates the stop fields with the stops on each line that is closest to the selected point. See Viewing Transfers on the Map for more information on map options.

      To remove the selected stop, click the Clear button beside the field:Clear button

  6. Leave the Enable check box selected or clear the check mark as required. If cleared, the transfer remains in the transfer table but is inactive and not used to create itineraries.
  7. Optional: Fill in the Level, Min. Time, and No Cost fields.
  8. In the Validity frame, type the dates for which the transfer is valid in the From>To fields and select the weekdays for the days the transfer is in active use. If no dates are entered, the transfer is valid all the time.
  9. Optional: Type a comment.
  10. Click the Save button: Save button
    The transfer appears in the grid and the manual creation is noted under the Method column with the label “user”. The date, time, and user responsible for creating the transfer is saved in the Created fields.
    Note: A warning message appears if the transfer already exists and the insertion is terminated. This prevents duplicate transfers.
  11. After finishing all transfers, click New Transfer to return to view mode.

Transfers are created between two routes in the direction specified only. To create transfers between the same routes in the opposite direction, repeat as necessary.
