Form letters are standard letters written from templates, sent to different clients that may be personalized by inserting the name and address of the recipient and other details about the selected feedback.

To prevent generating large rtf files after merging form letters, you must activate the Email and Formletter/Allow user to modify Formletter context property and perform the following procedure.

If the property is not activated, the system will not convert the doc file into an rtf file when the form letters are merged.

This procedure involves modifying the registry. Before you modify it, make sure to back it up and that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. Please refer to the appropriate Microsoft documentation for more information.

If using MS Word 2013, perform the following steps:

Open Regedit.
Click the registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options
On the Edit menu, select New > String.
Type ExportPictureWithMetafile and press ENTER.
Right-click on ExportPictureWithMetafile .
Click Modify.
In the Value data field, type 0.
