Copying Trip Cost Rules and Activity Rules to Other Contracts

Details of an existing contract can be copied into a new contract.

Before you begin

The Trapeze4 Workstation must be open to Provider Contracts ancillary data.

About this task

When you copy a contract into a new contract, the new copy can include the trip cost rules and activity cost rules, as well as selected validities. New rates can then be modified or specified as needed.

Typically, all contracts operate under the same rules (that is, after a bidding round). By grouping contracts together, rules can be replicated for contracts of the same type. This means if you have 15 contracts with two validities, it is only necessary to create the rules once. The rules can then be replicated in all other contracts and validities.

Procedure

  1. In the Contract list, click the contract that you want to copy.
  2. In the list of validities, click the validity to copy.
  3. Click Replicate Rules.

    The Rule Replication dialog box appears.

  4. In the Select cost types for replication frame, select one or both of the following check boxes:
    • Replicate trip cost rules
    • Replicate activity cost rules
  5. In the Select target validities for rule replication frame, click the validity to which to apply the copied rule.
    Available validities are listed starting with their provider Contract name.
  6. Click Select.
    To select multiple validities, hold the Ctrl key while clicking each rule, or click Select All to select all rules to be copied.
    The selected rule is added to the Selected validities list.
  7. Optional: To remove a selected rule from being copied, click the rule in the Selected validities frame, and then click Remove.
    To remove all rules from the list, click Remove All.
  8. Click Replicate.
    Replicated rules appear in red in the Provider contract - Trip costs dialog box or Provider contract - Activity costs dialog box of the receiving validity.
  9. Attach the correct rate profile to any trip cost rules that appear in red:
    1. In the Trapeze4 Workstation, click File > Ancillary Data > Para > Provider Costing > Provider Contracts.
      The Provider contract dialog box appears.
    2. In the Contract list, click the contract that received the validity containing the replicated rule.
    3. In the list of validities, click the validity that received the replicated rule.
    4. Click Trip cost.
    5. If any rows in the Trip cost grid appear in red, click a red row.
    6. Click Edit.
    7. In the Rateprofile list, click a rate profile.
    8. Click Save.
    9. Repeat until all rows are associated with a rate profile.
    10. Click Close.
      The Provider contract - Trip costs dialog box closes.
  10. Attach the correct rate profile to any activity cost rules that appear in red:
    1. Click Activity cost.
    2. If any rows in the Activity cost grid appear in red, click a red row.
    3. Click Edit.
    4. In the Rate profile list, click a rate profile.
    5. Click Save.
    6. Repeat until all rows are associated with a rate profile.
    7. Click Close.
      The Provider contract - Activity costs dialog box closes.
  11. In the Provider contract dialog box, click Close.
