About Schedule Parameter and Violations Sets Screen

The Schedule Parameter and Violation Sets screen allows the Solution Depth and Fast Cost Depth to be defined for the Fast Costing process. For more information about this screen, refer to the “Scheduling” section of the PASS System Administrator Guide.

When configuring Fast Costing in this screen, the following parameters need to be defined in the Solution Parameters tab:
  • Fast Cost (FC) - Set this parameter to 1 to enable Fast Costing; set this parameter to 0 to disable it. By default, this feature is disabled.
  • Fast Cost Depth (FCD)- Specify the number of Fast Costed solutions to be re-costed and compared using street routing. Although higher values may produce better results, it may also result in slower scheduling because more time-consuming street routing is required; smaller values yield faster scheduling. Also, re-costed solutions using street routing may not be viable because of violations such as OB, SL, RnL, and so on.
Note: FCD should be equal to or greater than SDepth.
  • Solution Depth (SDepth) - Specify the maximum number of solutions for a trip that Schedule Server should display in the Solutions step of the Manage Bookings screen after the final re-costing and sorting is performed. If there are more valid solutions re-costed than the SDepth value, then only the top SDepth solutions are shown.
Note: Run priority overrides cost in the final sort order. Refer to the “Runs” section of the PASS User Guide for more instructions on configuring run priority.
