Assigning Drivers and Co-Drivers

Some sites prefer not to assign drivers to runs until the day of service.

Before you begin

Runs must be open.

About this task

A co-driver is the driver’s on-board assistant.

You can assign a driver directly to the master run file if the same driver is assigned to the run every day.

Procedure

  1. Select a run.
  2. Click the Detail tab.
  3. In the Driver Name field, define the driver to be assigned to the run.
    • Type a forward slash (/) to generate a list of employees. Double-click the appropriate employee.
    • Type the name or a portion of the name in the Driver field. The system searches for a match to your entry.
Note: This functionality is only available if you have Trapeze4 on your main computer screen. If the application is used on a secondary computer screen, the first option in the list is selected automatically or no options are suggested.
    • Click the ellipsis button () to show the Find Employee dialog box.

If a Provider is selected for a run, the Find Employees dialog box shows only employees with the same provider or employees without a provider (N/A).

If no Provider is selected when assigning a driver to the run, the Find Employees dialog box shows all employees.

  4. Optional: Define the co-driver for the run:
The system only schedules bookings that require a co-driver to runs that include a co-driver.
    1. In the Co-Driver Name field, define an employee.
    2. In the Co-Driver list, click Yes.
Adding a co-driver affects vehicle capacity.
    3. Confirm that the employee you select is assigned to the same provider as the provider assigned to the run.
If no co-driver will be assigned at this point in time, you can select Yes in the Co-Driver list and leave the Co-Driver Name field blank.
  5. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
