Constraint Parameters
Constraints parameters provide a great deal of flexibility and are used to mold the final solution to individual client requirements.
The types of constraints are:
- Hard
- This defines operational boundaries that must be satisfied.
- Soft
- The algorithm attempts to meet the specified condition according to the relative priorities of the other soft constraints.
Both hard and soft constraints can relate to all shifts or sub sets of shifts. They start with a key word and space delimited range. At the Signup level, the constraints are read-only because there are no constraints stored at this level.
The options shown in the constraint lists depend on the selected context.
Note: Constraint parameters can be saved and loaded as an xml file. When loading the file and a record with
an Abbr (same as in the file) already exists, the existing record is updated. Constraint parameter files can be
copied from one sign-up period to another through the FX Copy feature in the Trapeze4 workstation.
