Geocoding Stops Based on Street Segment

You can geocode the stop to indicate where it is located in a segment – on the left, center or right side of the road from the perspective of point A (origin).

When you create a node/stop in Route Definition, make sure to select the LCR check box in the Nodes Edit dialog box in the Route Definition screen. (This geocoding method is mainly used in Trapeze FX.)
  1. Click the Use Mouse button:
    Computer mouse.
The Stop Location dialog box appears.
  2. Select the appropriate option to indicate on which side of the road the stop is located from point A.
  3. In the Segments Length field, type the length of the segment.
  4. In the Dist from Segment field, type the distance of the stop from the segment.
  5. To set the distance of the stops from points A and B:
    • In the Dist From A field, type the distance of the stop from point A.

In the Dist From B field, type the distance of the stop from point B.

    • Click and drag the small diamond icon beside the stop on the map and the values in both fields are adjusted accordingly.
  6. Optional: From the At Street drop-down list, select the street that intersects the street on which the segment is located.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Click Close.
