Exporting User Groups

Exporting user groups is useful when you have permission settings you want to reuse for another scenario, such as in a testing environment.

The Trapeze6 Service Shell must be open.
It is much easier to use an imported file as a basis for editing settings in the new scenario than to reset all the settings.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Tools > Security.

Depending on your system setup, Security may be found in a different location.

    • Click the Security shortcut:
A key with the word Security printer under it.
    The Security screen appears.
  2. Navigate to Security > User Groups.
User group names appear in the left pane.
  3. In the User Groups folder list, right-click and click Export Groups.
The Select User Groups dialog box appears.
  4. Select the check boxes beside the groups to export.
  5. Click OK.
The Save As dialog box appears.
  6. Type a File name and click Save.
The user groups are saved in a *.xml file.
