Obtaining Write Access to Map Data

You require write access to the map data before you can edit a map.

Due to the complex relationships within map data and between map and transit data, only one user can have write access to a map at a time.

When write access to map data is unavailable, the Edit menu and toolbar buttons appear shaded in the MapEdit screen.

Click File > Get Write Access, or click the Get Write Access button: Write Access
The button is renamed to Set Read Only.

Once changes have been completed, return permissions to read-only access. Leaving the program or changing the profile also releases the write-lock.

  • Click File > Set Read Only, or click the Set Read Only button: Read Only

    The button is renamed to Get Write Access.
