The unit of measure, date, time and address formats, and colors for printed maps and
maps in the MapEdit screen can be changed.
The properties of MapEdit are user-specific and do not apply when
other users log in to view the map.
By default, the following colors with different levels of density or format are used for
routes in the MapEdit screen:
- Solid red lines are used for limited access lines, such as interstate highways.
- Solid yellow lines are used for major arterial and collector roads.
- Light gray lines are used for residential roads.
- Solid blue lines are used for water.
- Dashed green lines are used for rail lines.

The Properties dialog box appears.
- Optional:
To change the unit of measure, date, time or address format on the map, click one of
the following properties, and then click the format in the list on the right side of the
dialog box:
- Distance
- Speed
- Address. In the Address property list, click
Address Layout or Street Number
Display.
- Date
- Time
- Time span
- Weekdays

To change colors for map printouts, click the Map tab, click
Printout Appearance, and then do one or both of the following
steps:

To change colors for the map in the MapEdit screen, on the
Map tab, click the plus sign (+) beside Screen
Appearance, and then do one or more of the following steps:
- To change the background color, click Background Color, and
then click the new color in the right side of the dialog box.
- To change the color of labels, routes and points, click Route
Colors, click the label, route or point type, and then click the new
color in the right side of the dialog box.
- To change the street label color, click Street Label Color,
and then click the new label color in the right side of the dialog box.

Click Apply.
