About TSDE

The TSDE (Trapeze Standard Data Exchange) is an all-encompassing application that is designed to incorporate all currently existing Trapeze import and export data tools into a single application that can be configured.

It is designed to standardize the format by which schedule data can be imported or exported. In particular, it enables the sharing of data between the Trapeze database with third party products for fixed route public transport systems and between XML (Extensible Markup Language)-based interface products.

The import and export tasks that TSDE can perform are similar to plug-ins; they enhance or extend the operation of the main Trapeze application that you are using. Each task is accessible through a single user interface; you do not need to open separate windows in order to perform a task.

The following graphic shows a simplified illustration of how TSDE is used to transform data created with a third party or an external Trapeze application into the Trapeze data structure.

Before importing data, which has been created in another application, into a Trapeze application, export the data first into the Trapeze format. Once formatted, run the Compare function in the DbEdit utility to ensure that the destination database is in the correct format. (For information on DbEdit, please consult your Trapeze representative.) Proceed to import the data into the Trapeze application.
