EMail/SMTP Properties

The EMail properties allow you to send email messages using SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol ) to the appropriate person or group, for example, an investigator.

Property Description
Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Server Address Name of the SMTP server.
Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Server Port Port of SMTP server
Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Server Authentication Set to 1 if the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server requires authentication. Set to 2 if you use NTLM (NT LAN Manager) authentication protocol.

This property is used only if SMTP authentication is required. If your site is using its own SMTP Server, authentication may be used (user must be registered for the server to send email messages).

Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > User Name

User name set if SMTP server requires authentication.

Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Password Password set if SMTP server requires authentication.
Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Codepage

Codepage set as the default and is used to send the SMTP message. The codepage string has to be formatted according to SMTP standards.

Current system locale is used if no value is set.

Core > Services > EMail > SMTP > Default Sender (This property must be set.) Email address of the sender of the email message. If the COM/Email and Formletter/Use Default Email Address context property is not selected and the system cannot find an email address for the Investigator currently logged in, this email address is used in the From field in the Correspondence dialog.
