Configuring ODBC Connections
Open DataBase Connectivity (ODBC) is a standard application programming interface for connecting to different databases using a common language. Each database must communicate with the Trapeze software using an ODBC connection.
Creating ODBC Connections for Oracle
Before making the ODBC connection to Oracle databases, you must set up a configuration file (tnsnames.ora) that specifies the connection details of the database to which you want to connect.

After setting up the connections to the Oracle database, click Test Connection.

The Oracle ODBC Driver Connect dialog box is displayed.
(If applicable) Type your login information in the User Name and Password fields.
Click OK.

If the connection is successful, a message box indicating a successful connection is displayed. Otherwise, an error message is displayed advising you that the system is unable to connect.

If there is an error, resolve the problems indicated in the error message, for example, invalid user name.
Click OK.
