Configuring ODBC Connections for Oracle
Each database must communicate with the Trapeze software using an ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) connection. ODBC is a standard application programming interface for connecting to different databases using a common language. Trapeze6 supports Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases.
To launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator from Windows, in the system folder, For easy access, create a shortcut to the ODBC executable file.
- Launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

On the System DSN tab, click Add.
The Create New Data Source dialog box is displayed.
- Choose Microsoft ODBC for Oracle from the list.

Click Finish.
The Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Setup dialog box is displayed.
- In the Name and Description fields, type an appropriate name and description for the data source, and then type the Oracle SID of the database.
- Click OK.

In the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box, click OK to
complete the connection.
