Inserting Lines into a Line Group

You can insert lines into the line groups you created.

About this task

On the Line Groups tab, the list of line groups that you created (again, one group per line with the same name is the default) is displayed. Expand a group by double-clicking on it or select the Expand All check box at the bottom to show at once what lines are in each group. You can now move lines from one group to another to reassign them.
Note: This is another way to effectively interline existing trips to another Line Group. Interlining and Interline Relationships are discussed in detail in the FX User Guide.

Procedure

  1. On the Line Groups tab, highlight the group to which you want to move a line.
  2. Click Insert Lines. The Select Lines dialog box appears. It shows you a list of lines that are available.
  3. Click the one that you want to insert or press CTRL to move multiple lines to this group. If the line you are moving has trips already built on it, you are prompted by the Change Trips' Line Groups dialog box.
  4. To apply the changes to either the blocked or unblocked trips or both types, leave the Blocked and Unblocked check boxes selected or clear them accordingly.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Close.
Note: If your transit site requires the use of drop backs (driver blocks), you must first make sure that the Use Driver Blocks system property is enabled. This activates an additional check box at the bottom of the dialog box. Historically, drop backs are used with subway or rail type routes in the scheduling process. Contact your Trapeze representative for more information.

What to do next

You now need to create your actual lines (routes), which become the basis for entering your stops, nodes and eventually building trips, all of which are discussed in further detail in this guide.
