Setting Allowable Violations

Allowed violations are violations that are ignored when they occur; therefore, they are not listed as such or are disregarded when calculating solutions.

Procedure

  1. Click Tools > System Properties.
  2. On the Profile tab, expand the PASS Scheduling properties, and then click Sets: Violations.
  3. On the right side of the dialog box, click Edit.
The Allowable Violations dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Viol Set (violation set) set to be edited (or to be used as the base for a new violation set).
  5. In the SecGroupName list, select the security groups that should be allowed to use the violation set.
  6. In the Allow By Amount frame, type the maximum number of minutes allowed for the different violations.
For example, typing 2 for the HO violation means that the system does not flag an event until the Max Hostage Time has been exceeded by two minutes.
  7. In the Allow (Yes /No) frame, select the violations that the system is allowed to include when generating run solutions.
  8. Click Save.
The Save Set As dialog box appears.
  9. Type a Set Name and Comment.
If you use the same violation set name you will be prompted to overwrite the original violation set.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Optional: Add a Comment about the current settings or any related properties.
  13. Click Apply.
  14. Click OK.
