Pay Time
The following table explains the parameters in the Pay Time Situation:
Note: The values assigned
to Pay Time depend on the calculation that your transit agency uses. For example, it can
consist of 'Prep time + Report time + Platform time + Travel time + Clear time' and/or any
other time that may be defined in your agency's pay rules.
| Parameter | Description |
| Minimum | The minimum pay time |
| Maximum |
The maximum pay time (If required, this value can be used to replicate your maximum work time from Blockbuster.) The remaining parameters in pay time can be left at their default values |
| Fixed overhead | A user-defined value, which is assigned to every run. |
| Cost per hour | A user-defined value, which is assigned to every run. |
| Ordinary time penalty | A selection from which the penalty percentage applicable to the normal shift length can be chosen. 0% indicates that no penalties are applicable to the normal shift length (ordinary time). |
| Ordinary time premium | A penalty value in minutes assigned to ordinary time. |
| Time penalty | The time penalty is awarded on time worked after the given time of day and can be considered a late running penalty. Any time is added to the special penalty category and is in excess of ordinary penalty (unless the greater of time/ord is selected). |
| Time premium | A penalty value in minutes assigned to time. |
| Part time penalty | The penalty is calculated on the entire shift and is always allocated independently of other penalties. |
| Part time premium | A penalty value in minutes assigned to the entire shift. |
| Length of ordinary time | The length of ordinary time divides the entire shift (total time
worked) into ordinary time and extra-ordinary time. Note: If the length of ordinary
time is not given, it is set to the entire shift by default. It is assumed that
the meal break falls entirely within ordinary time. |
| If shift less than/then make up to | If the minimum shift length in minutes is not reached, the shift is paid up to the make up time in minutes. |
| Or standby for | If a shift does not sign-off, then it is considered to be a standby shift and is allocated a sign-off based on the specified length of a standby shift. |
| Fixed unpaid portion of Shift Break | The length of the unpaid portion of shift breaks if they are of a fixed length. |
| Late running penalty | If selected, the late running penalty conditions are activated. |
| Late running threshold | The time at which late running penalties commence. |
| Late running premium | The late running premium as a percentage. |
| Late running penalty | The late running penalty as a value in minutes. |
| Late running on ordinary only | If selected, late running on ordinary only is activated. |
| Overtime penalty | If selected, the overtime penalty conditions are activated. |
| Overtime threshold (The parameters are in three steps: step 1, 2, and 3, including penalty and premium parameters.) | If the work exceeds value typed, the following penalties
apply:
|
| Entire run penalty* | If selected, the entire run penalty, which is only awarded on
straight shifts, is activated. Note: The parameters marked with an asterisk relate to
one another. |
| Entire run premium* | The penalty should be given as a percentage. |
| Entire run penalty* | The penalty applies to all time worked. |
| Entire run on ordinary only* | The penalty can be awarded on ordinary runs only if the run starts before and/or finishes after the given times. |
| If start before* | The entire run gets a penalty (determined as time or percent) if it starts at a specific time. |
| Or finish after* | The entire run gets a penalty (determined as time or percent) if it ends after a specific time. |
| For ordinary time only* | If selected, ordinary time only is activated. (Entire run penalty applies to ordinary time only.) |
| Part of run before | The part of the run that attracts the percentage penalty, if the run commences before the “start of run before time”. |
| Start of run before | Start of run before time. |
| Part run early premium | The penalty should be given as a percentage. |
| Part run early penalty | The penalty applied to the early part of the run. |
| Part of run after | The part of the run that attracts the percentage penalty if the run finishes after the “end of run after” time. |
| End for ordinary time only | The penalty can be awarded on ordinary time only. |
| Part run late premium | The penalty should be given as a percentage. |
| Part run late penalty | The penalty applied to the late part of the run. |
| Spread overtime threshold | Spread penalty is only awarded on broken shifts if the total spread (time from first sign-on to last sign-off) exceeds the given threshold. |
| Spread overtime on ordinary only | If selected, the spread penalty condition is activated. |
| Spread overtime cumulative (The Spread overtime parameters are in three steps: steps 1, 2, 3, and 4, including penalty and premium parameters.) |
Spread penalty can consist of up to four steps awarded at a percentage rate or flat minutes. If activated, this option accumulates all components. If not selected, only the last one that has a value is used. If the work exceeds the spread overtime threshold value, the following penalties apply:
|
| On a gap exceeding (if no spread penalty) | If there is no spread penalty, it is possible to penalize the gap between two shifts. Type the minimum gap to attract a penalty. |
| Gap penalty | Type the gap penalty as a value in minutes. |
| Gap premium |
Type the gap premium as a percentage value.
Note: Time penalty, shift penalty and
spread penalty can be calculated on variations of ordinary and extra-ordinary
time, where extra-ordinary time is any time in excess of the specified ordinary
time (display – keyword – description). |
Notes on Penalties
- For Ordinary time: Penalty is awarded only on the ordinary time and the overtime penalty is on time in excess of ordinary time.
- For Worked: Penalty is awarded on the entire shift and overtime is on time in excess of ordinary time.
- For All time: Penalty is awarded on the entire shift and overtime is calculated on any time in excess of ordinary time not awarded the penalty.
- For Greater time: Award the greater of penalty on entire shift overtime calculated on any time in excess of ordinary time.
- For Ord and Greater time (Ogreater): Penalty is awarded on ordinary time plus the greater of any penalty on time in excess of ordinary time overtime on any time in excess of ordinary time.
