Commands in the Address Matcher Dialog

A number of options are available in the Address Matcher dialog toolbar.

Command Button Description
Retry Match Envelope. Attempts to match an address when changes are made to typed data.
Accept Paper with a letter v at the right side. Accepts and geocodes the address.
Restore Original Address Paper with a returning arrow. Reverts to the address you initially tried to match.
More Envelope with three dots. Shows the remaining address matches that are not displayed.
Full View Airplane with a small planet Earth above it. Reverts to the full view of the map (that is, the entire aerial view).
Zoom Magnifying glass. Centers the map on the object selected in the dialog.
Zoom In Plus sign in a magnifying glass. Shows a more detailed view of the map.
Zoom Out Minus sign in a magnifying glass. Enlarges the map view.
Flash Yellow celestial star.

Highlights the address on the map.

You may need to use the Zoom command in order to center the map on the correct area before you can see the point flash on the screen.

Follow Two footprints.

Allows you to synchronize the map with the addresses found in the Results frame.

To see where a chosen address is on the map:

  1. Click the Follow button. The button stays pressed.
  2. Click the Zoom or Flash button.
  3. Highlight an address from the Results frame to synchronize the map with the highlighted address.

Opens the Details frame in a dialog that lists more information about the selected address.

Double-click any address element row in the Show Details pane to view that information in the main dialog. To remove the columns, double-click the column heading.

Use Lists Window with scroll bar and an arrow pointing from the lower-right corner to the left middle of the image. Allows you to view a list of possible matches for each address element.

On clicking the Use Lists button, each row shows an expand button that, when clicked, reveals a list of ranked matches for the selected element.

Counter Column Three columns. One contains the number 1, one contains the number 4 , and one contains the number 3. Indicated by the shaded column in the middle.

This feature displays the number of matches found for each address element.

Review Match Settings Hand pointing to two columns of vertical lines. Opens the Address Match Parameters dialog, where you can review and edit parameters.
