About MapEdit
Trapeze MapEdit is used to view and edit Trapeze4 maps.
Trapeze4 maps are used in products such as Trapeze PASS, INFO-Agent, FX, and FLEX for purposes such as geocoding bus lines and locations, estimating distances and times between locations, and preparing instructions for drivers.
Trapeze4 map data is tightly integrated with Trapeze transit data. When editing maps, MapEdit ensures that all data model relationships and dependencies remain synchronized.
MapEdit can be used to make changes such as:
- Adding new streets and street names
- Changing incorrect streets and street names
- Correcting street shapes and locations
- Adding missing address ranges and city codes
MapEdit is not intended for:
- Implementing large-scale edits. For large-scale edits, obtain an updated map and load it using Trapeze MapMaker.
- Use as full-scale geographic information system (GIS) software. While Trapeze4 maps are tightly integrated with Trapeze products and are optimized for transit management, generic GIS packages such as ArcInfoTM and MapInfo provide a wider spectrum of generic analytical tools.
