LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. It is an "open, vendor-neutral, industry standard application protocol" used to access objects (such as users) in a large directory.
About This Guide
This guide describes setting up LDAP for your Trapeze applications.
You can access the LDAP Settings screen in the Trapeze6 Service Shell and configure your LDAP connection.
LDAP Settings
These settings determine the authentication for users on your system.
LDAP Server Connection Settings
You must specify how to connect to the LDAP server.
Attribute Mapping
These settings specify LDAP attribute names used to retrieve user information.
Search Settings
You can specify what part of the LDAP directory to search. The more specific the search specification, the better the search results.
Searching for LDAP Users
You can retrieve a list of LDAP user groups and users.
Mapping Groups
You can map LDAP groups to Trapeze security groups. This automatically assigns group members the permissions they require.
You can map existing users to their LDAP log in identities.
Using Transfer Identities to LDAP
You can access the transfer tool using a browser to connect to your Trapeze6 Service Shell.
