Disk Imaging and Backups

Your IT Department is expected to be responsible for performing regular backups of both the Voice Gateway and Application servers.

Server backup is particularly important for the Voice Gateway server, which is very complex to set up, and may require a few days to install (or re-install). In case of a major or unrecoverable Voice Gateway server failure, re-installing it from scratch could result in several days of service interruption unless a complete image copy of that server is available.

Therefore, before going live with your IVR Application, we strongly recommend completing the following steps:

  1. Your IT Department performs a complete disk image backup copy of the Voice Gateway server aside from the regular scheduled incremental backups.
