Turning Security On and Off

User security can be turned off when troubleshooting.

The Trapeze6 Service Shell must be open.
Security may be turned off temporarily if there are no user accounts in the system, or if troubleshooting is required.
Note: Turning off security allows all users to access all parts of the Trapeze system, and security should be turned back on as soon as possible.

The feature description states that this option has been deprecated and may be removed in a future version.

  1. Click File > Trace Option.
    The Trace Options dialog appears.
  2. Click the Switches tab.
  3. Navigate to Core > Security folder.
  4. Set the security Authenticate switch:
    • ON
      Check user passwords at log in.
    • OFF
      Allow users to log in without entering a password.

      If the user name has an assigned workspace, that workspace is used.

  5. Set the security Check Permissions switch:
    • ON
      Check users' permissions before they can access specific features.
    • OFF
      All users can access features regardless of permission settings.
  6. Click OK.
After troubleshooting is complete, turn both the Authenticate and the Check Permissions switch to ON.
