About Runs with the Same Start and End Times
How do I make some of my runs have the same start and end times every day?
ParaCutter allows users to tailor their service to differing needs for each day of the week. The nature of runcutting is such that even minor differences in hourly service requirements can result in significantly different runcut outcomes.
However, it may be desirable to maintain some consistency from one day to the next within a work week. In other words, you may prefer shifts that are relatively consistent from day-to-day even if that is not quite as efficient as another solution that results in driver shifts that have no day-to-day consistency.
To provide for this, ParaCutter allows you to solve one day and then pattern other days after it, while still accounting for the differing requirements.
First, solve the template day of the week. Once that is done, you can refer to that day's solution when solving for another day of the week.
To employ matching, use the matching rules available when you set up a job. You must select a Match File (this is the name of an existing results file that you want to use as a template for a new solution).
Up to three match rules can be defined for a job. You can define each rule as either a number of runs to match or a percent of runs to match. You can apply a rule with respect to all runs, only splits, only straights, or any shift type allowed by the job. You should not apply the same rule type more than once.
