About Work and Costing Rules
Work and costing rules refer to the parameters applied to regulate the work performed by operators and to determine how they are paid based on government regulations, transit site policies, and union agreements.
Work rules typically cover the work time (hours of work) required of employees over a time period such as a day or week. These may also cover time for activities related to or performed within the time they are considered at work such as breaks, travel, training, and work preparation.
Costing rules determine how employees are paid for the different components of their work time.
