Saving Buffer Files

Saving the buffer file includes all of the items in the buffers list and any associated property settings.

  1. In the Buffer File frame of the PLAN Options dialog box, click Save.
    The Save As dialog box appears.
  2. In the File name field, enter an appropriate name including the *.txt extension.
    Note: Make sure to include the *.txt extension in the File name field when you enter a name for your buffer, for example, samplebuffer.txt. Otherwise, the file is saved with a net extension and you will not see the file in the saved buffer files list when you try to load it later.
  3. Click Save.
    The file is stored as a text file in XML format.
