Using the Stamp Investigator

Entering your information (name, email, phone, pager) every time you perform an action in the COM Investigator screen is a necessary but repetitive task. Use the Stamp Investigator tool to save time and effort in performing this task.

To use the Stamp Investigator tool, your name, user login name, email address, phone, and pager numbers must be defined in the Investigators ancillary data screen.

If the COM/Customers Feedback settings/Allow multiple subjects in a feedback context property is selected, a Feedback can have more than one Subject. (A Subject can have several action items that maybe assigned to different investigators.)
  1. Log on to COM with a user account that is associated with an investigator listed in the COM ancillary data.
  2. Do one of the following steps:
    • Press F3.
    • Click View > Context.
    • Click the Context button: Context button.
  3. Choose the filters to display the feedback you want.
  4. In the Feedback pane, select the feedback you want.
  5. If feedback has more than one subject, in the Subject pane, select the subject you want.
    The details of the selected Feedback and Subject are displayed in the panes in the right section of the grid.
  6. If the selected Subject has more than one action, select the action you want in the Action pane.
    The details of the selected Action are displayed in the bottom right pane of the right section of the grid.
  7. Click the Stamp Investigator button: Stamp Investigator button.
    If an investigator has already been selected for the Action, a message appears asking if you want to replace the investigator.
  8. Optional: Click Yes.
    Your name and information replaces that of the previously assigned investigator.

The system compares your user login with the Investigator data stored in the Investigator screen. If they match, the Investigator, Investigator Name, Phone, Pager Number, and Investigator Email fields are filled in with your information, however, the department and division fields are not filled in with the department and division assigned to the Investigator in the COM Investigator screen.
