Entering Client Addresses

You can add as many client addresses as there are client address types.

Before you begin

Address types ancillary data must be created by a system administrator.

Client Registration must be open.

About this task

If new client address types are needed, see a system administrator. Note that the formatting of addresses in the system is also set by a system administrator.

Procedure

  1. Search for and select the client.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. In the Address frame, from the Address Type list, choose a client address type.
  4. Click Create.
After the Create button is clicked, it becomes Remove. Addresses previously defined for the client can be deleted by clicking Remove.
  5. Type the address in the appropriate fields and geocode the address.
If you enter multiple addresses, the client's home address is first in the list by default.
  6. Optional: To view address information with labels, right-click on the address area and click Info.
  7. Optional: Select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Pick-up The address is the pick-up location for most or all of the client’s trips. By default, this address is the origin for all trips created for this client in Trip Booking.
Drop-off The address is the drop-off location for most or all of the client’s trips. By default, this address is the destination for all trips created for this client in Trip Booking.
Mailing The address is the client’s mailing address.
Note: You can choose both Pick-up (or Drop-off) and Mailing for a Client Home address.
  8. Optional: Select a Space Type and Mobility Aid if they are specifically required at the address location. If they are not required, leave each field as N/A. Type the Load time and Unload time as required for the address.
Specify general space type requirements (that is, those not associated with a location) on the Detail tab. Load times and unload times are cumulative and should be used with caution.

The mobility aid selected on the Detail tab of the client file is used for bookings, but the space type, load times, and unload times defined for a client address on the General tab will override the client definitions made on the Detail tab when a booking is created.

  9. Type the client Phone number for the address.
  10. Type a Comment for the driver about the address.
This comment appears in the Comment field in the address box in Trip Booking when the address is selected.
  11. Optional: To enter additional contact information, click Contact Info. Type or select the address type, device type abbreviation (for example, cell or email), connection string (for example, 905-222-3333 or abc@emailaddr.com), visibility, and any additional comments.
Choose Yes in the Visible column to make the information visible on other PASS screens. Choose No to mask the information with asterisks.
Contact methods can also be entered and viewed on the Contact Info tab, which shows the dates and times the contact methods are in effect.
  12. Select the Veh. Type Excl. (vehicle type exclusions) to specify the vehicle types that cannot travel to or be used to pick up or drop off the client at the address.
If a predefined Location is selected in the Address Type list, any vehicle type exclusions specified for the location are automatically selected in the Veh. Type Excl. list. These exclusions are also automatically selected in the Vehicle Type Exclusion list on the Supplementary Data tab in Trip Booking.
  13. Select a Jurisdiction Polygon.
If your property uses jurisdictions, your geocoded location is automatically assigned to one.
  14. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
