Using the Find Clients Dialog Box

The Find Clients dialog box allows you to search for specific clients.

Before you begin

Client Registration must be open.

Procedure

  1. On the Select tab, select Search result.
  2. Click Display.
    The Find Clients dialog box appears.
  3. Enter information in one or more of the input fields.
    If you know only a portion of the client’s name or SSN or Medicaid number, type it followed by an asterisk (*). The asterisk is a wild card that tells the system that there are more letters or numbers than currently defined. Enter information exactly as it has been saved in the database (with appropriate spaces, dashes, and so on).

    To use the client’s address information to find the record, type relevant information in the address box provided and click Find.

    To verify the address is valid, use the Match Address button.

  4. In the Match Criteria frame, select either AND (All match) or OR (Some match):
    • AND gives you a list of clients that exactly match the entered information.
    • OR gives you a list of clients that partly match the entered information. OR can be used if you are not sure that all of the client information is correct.
  5. Optional: Select the Show Active Only check box to include only clients who have an active status.
  6. Click Find.
    The system generates a list of matches in the grid. Below the grid, the address and address type for the selected record are shown.
  7. Click Select.
    The selected clients are shown on the Select tab of Client Registration.

View the record for any client by clicking the client name and then clicking each tab in the screen.
