Geocoding Using the Mouse and Map

This method is used, for example, when you need to send a vehicle to a recently developed location in the city that is not yet recognized in the map.

About this task

The Mouse button method is recommended ONLY to users who are very familiar with the map and service area. Check that the system map is open and get as close a range as possible of your area to get an accurate geocode.

Procedure

  1. Click the Use Mouse button: Use Mouse button

    This feature remains active (pressed) until you complete this activity.

  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Locate the point on the map you have chosen to geocode and click. Then, click the address box and type an address in the address fields.
    • Press the CTRL key, and then click the point on the map you have chosen to geocode. The street name of the geocoded point is populated in the street field of the address box.
  3. Click the Save button:
    Diskette.
  4. Optional: To fix an incorrectly geocoded address, click the Use Mouse button and try again.
