About Batch Scheduling
Batch Scheduling is a fast and easy way to schedule a group of trips at once.
Based on the information in each booking, and scheduling parameters specified in PASS, the system looks for the best solutions and creates the most efficient schedules.
Unlike single-insert scheduling, the batch scheduling process does not allow you to negotiate trip times with clients and no search window is typically used when the system looks for solutions. The system schedules unscheduled trips based on requested times and scheduling parameters and properties specified in PASS.
For example, if the Tolerance: Pick-up Early and Tolerance: Pick-up Late properties are set to 15 minutes each, when a client requests a trip with a pick-up time of 8:00, the reservationist can tell the client to expect the vehicle to arrive between 7:45 to 8:15. If you plan to call back your clients to inform them of their schedule times, you can use the Allow Sch Times to move by the Search Early/Late Parameters check box in the Batch Parameters dialog box. Using this feature has the same effect as using the SearchW filter when you look for scheduling solutions in the Schedule Booking Wizard.
Performed trips are considered frozen and are not included when batch scheduling trips.
